Eagle Island Seafood off 421 is a great place to take a food trip. It has both produce and seafood. I also enjoyed the great selection of local specialty foods.
Saigon Market on Kerr Avenue offers a great array of specialty food but it is also great spot to find unique culinary devices that won't break the bank. I purchased a veggie knife for $5.00 and a Mortar and Pestle for $9.00
The Farmers Markets are going strong this season with ones in Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach, Downtown Wilmington, Orton Plantation, Raliegh and Wallace. My Favorite is Wallace because of the selection and I can also purchase live chickens and other live stock. It is really a nice trip and is open on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Shell Shop on Carolina Beach Road. This is a great little spot for asian flavors. They also have a great selection of peppers.
